I heard the Sea Hawk Suite a few years ago in Rotterdam, and was shocked how short it was. I actually travelled from Switzerland for the concert (conducted by James Sedares), and since I could time all the other pieces from the program at 35 minutes, I naturally expected the "Suite" to be at least 4...

I tried to track down the very firs time I heard some Korngold and was aware of it, and ... this film probably is it! I remember when I first saw "Aria", I was really not very enthusiastic about most of it, but the "Tote Stadt" sequence was one I really enjoyed, even though visually it was quite cor...

I've ordered five!

I may order more later (I have a shop).

I bet it'll be sold out by the end of the day.

Hey, but its nice to have different opinions without killing each other. Yes it is! All I will add is that when I started getting into Korngold 12 years ago I would have bitten anyones arm off to get hold of either recording. Peter It goes without saying, but... sometimes it's best to be remi...

Wait! Wait! I got it! "Bee" is a play on words!!! It's so obvious! I'm so daft sometimes... "Bee" is a play on the insect and the letter "B", which stands... for you, Brendan. I've got you messing around with me whenever I come here! I do have an insect in the brain after all! Do I get a point...

Yes, except they're not digital!

... but yes. :(

(For instance, the Prince and Pauper from Tsunami kicks ass!)

Meaning... what?

And, maybe there was a misunderstanding, but what was the "bee in the bonnet" thing?

To me, bonnet is "head" and "bee" is an insect: ergo, I have an insect in the brain!

Insult or not? I set myself up for this?

Oh, ok! No stoning, then? Well I will give the Chandos a try. Actually, I was disappointed twice recently, on similar grounds. The other was the Intrada "Spellbound" by Rozsa, which is a score/piece that I really adore (also under it's reworkings, such as the "Spellbound Concerto"). Well the Intrada...

My, my, I almost missed you, Mr.Carroll. I must say, I don't remember having ever encountered anybody who seems so devoid of a sense of humour... ( Just to make it clear: "Because he got paid?" followed by  = joke! Get it? No? Even if this followed by: " Seriously..." Still dont get the hint? N...

I guess I'll burn in hell for this, but... I got my copy of Sea Hawk/Deception in September, I listened to it once, twice, three times, and... I just don't like it. It gives me the same overall impression as the Naxos "Robin Hood": it sounds ok... but not great. Either the tempo sounds a tad slow or...

Because he got paid? :D Hm, seriously, since nobody managed togive you an answer, I'm wondering: which Williams recordings did George Korngold produce? I'm thinking: maybe he produced them before he became aware that Williams was lifting his father. As for me, if I hadn't been told about of the King...

As far as I know, Membran simply copies CDs from other companies: these include FSM, Prometheus and Tsunami. So, musicwise, they are identical.

My guess is it will be released anytime now, but that could be next month or in the fall or... later.

I don't think FSM releases ANY information beforehand on their releases, do they?
