A nice feature on Korngold's 50th death anniversary was broadcast today on RADIO 3.
Go to the website...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3
....and look up the programme MUSIC MATTERS for today's date, October 20th.
This edition of the programme contains a feature on EWK and is dowloadable/available to listen to, for 7 days from today on the LISTEN AGAIN system.
Enjoy!

I enjoyed the radio program.
In the last of the program, a concert of "Das Wunder der Heliane Op 20" was announced previously.
I heard it like, on "November 14".
The concert of "Das Wunder der Heliane Op 20" should have been, on November 21?
Or I misheard it?

Hiya
I very much enjoyed the programme.
I wanted to ask however if any of the material on the programme, eg the Korngold party piano playing, or the interviews and items featuring Korngolds family will ever make it into the public domain? As someone who only got into Korngold after the death of Korngolds sons, and of course personally not knowing them, it would be fascinating to hear those pieces in an expanded form.
More in hope than expectation, alas.
Peter

Hello Peter
You are correct about HELIANE in London. It IS the 21st Nov...the announcer got his dates mixed up!
As for the archive material, the Heindorf Party recording IS already issued on the second disc of the special DVD of ROBIN HOOD but ONLY on the REGION 1 US release alas.
The interview materials will not be issued commercially as they were not made on that basis and permission from the Korngold estate would certainly be necessary.
