Novotny & Korngold
Sorry to disappoint you but this lovely CD has been advertised on the home page of this site since 2002! Scroll down and you will find the link near the bottom, on the right hand side. However, thank you for reminding folks here that it is out there & still available.
Mr Novotny is a great musician and has particular empathy with Korngold. This is one of my favourite performances of Opus 6, a much neglected masterpiece.
Thank you also for your kind words about my little essay that accompanies this recording.

Czech sonata in G major
New from the same solist thou recorded already in Sept. 2007 at the Mahler-festival in Jihlava/CR: www.arcodiva.cz UP 0108-2 131, EWK`s
violin-concerto op. 35, Frantisek Novotný, Brno Philh.Orch., Martin Turnovský cond., + Strauss "Don Juan" and Mahler-songs.
Gramophone Febr. 09:"...the excellent local Philh.O. respond warmly to the rich lyricism of EWK`s splendid V.O., with its endearingly melancholic and totally memorable melodies in the first movement and the dashing exuberance of the finale...It was Heifetz...but Fr.Novotný is also a very fine advocate, catching both its lyrical nostalgia and its brilliance, and showing the work worthy to be rated alongside the v.os of Bruch and Barber...(critic, Ivan March)

A colleague in Germany may have the rest, and I will ask. Why is it so important?
