Important New DVD!

SEE LINK BELOW: On October 13, an interesting 90 minute documentary (made by Tony Palmer in 2004) will finally be released in Europe (I'm not sure about the USA). Why it took so long is something of a mystery.
Many will already have the CD release of Benjamin Schmid's fine performance of Korngold's Violin Concerto, at the opening concert of the 2004 Salzburg Festival, with the VPO under Ozawa. Schmid is an outstanding Austrian violinist and loves this work - it certainly shows!
This documentary provides the back-story to his discovery of the piece, as well as a splendid, complete, filmed performance of the concerto as performed at that opening concert. It also includes film of Korngold's country estate at Hoselberg!
