I was pleased and very surprised to be watching an episode of 'Family Guy' (Season 6, Episode 12; DVD, Vol. 7, Disc 1, 2008) called "Long John Peter" when along comes music from "The Sea Hawk" during a sequence when the animation character Peter Griffin feigns life as a pirate.
Included on the DVD is this commentary by one of the 'Family Guy' staff:
"I think this music is from "The Sea Hawk," composed by Max Steiner, maybe... No, no, no....Ernest [sic] Wolfgang Korngold. Seth [the executive producer] would want me to say that.. because if you thought Coldplay was hard to get, imagine getting Ernest [sic] Wolfgang Korngold. He also composed the music to "The Adventures of Robin Hood" which may be a better remembered score."
For me It was great fun, but I wonder if the maestro would have enjoyed any of the above. Personally, I think he might have been amused.
