I regret there is no published thesis on this work but there are several scholarly works on Paul Wittgenstein (see the bibliography in my book for sources), for whom it was composed. The autograph Mss is in the New York Public Library and I myself have written a brief analysis for several recordings of the work.
Good luck!

Dear phantasie_cdur, sorry that I am so late. If you need any dates, places & English written reviews etc. where Wittgenstein & others performed this now so well known piece (7 CDs!) please mail after
Sept. 30: bernd.o.rachold@superkabel.de.
Indeed there is a dissertation existing about Wittgenstein & his concerts by a So Young Kim-Park (c. 200 p)with an analysis of op. 17 but with some chapters about op. 23 only, no real analysis, and in German!
Regards, Bernd, Korngold-archive
