Wonder if anyone can enlighten me, in respect of the performance history of Korngold's Sinfonietta, Op.5, the significance of the performance of the piece conducted by Richard Strauss in the concert on 26 February, 1915 at the Konigliches Opernhaus, Berlin.
Grateful.

Dear Raymond, sorry for such a late reply. Yes, the Korngold-archive has a xerox of this wonderful, famous concert when the great, admired RS conducted EWK`s op. 5 with the composer as guest of honour in Berlin with the "Königliche Kapelle" (Royal Orchestra). Too, I have a xerox of the composer´s letter to RS dated March 2, 1915 thanking him for this great event. Sorry to say that all reviews were written in German.
No problem to send xeroxs of program & letter to you. Anything in exchange for this archive: playbills, reviews, etc. ? If you are interested you may mail your address after Sept. 30 to bernd.o.rachold@superkabel.de
Regards, Bernd, Korngold-archive.
