As some members of this forum will remember, last December the Cologne Opera presented its new production of Erich Wolfgang Korngold's Die tote Stadt albeit in a reduced version to mark the centenary of the work's world premiere. No audience was allowed because of Covid-19 and it was only presented on line for a nominal donation.
Well, the new season has just been announced and Korngold's Die tote Stadt will open it on September 4, this time WITH audience!
