Schott has just published the exceptional piano transcription of the great Act 2 aria ‘Ich ging zu Ihm’ from Korngold’s opera Das Wunder der Heliane’ made in 2019 by the gifted young pianist Raymon von Engelenhoven.

It captures a myriad of orchestral detail and is a very welcome addition to the catalogue. The 1928 transcription already published by Schott was made by Schott’s in-house arranger Franz Kopriva (not Korngold himself) and is not in the same league at all.
